Exhilarating
In Naucalpan, northern Mexico City I discovered a profoundly engaging other-worldly realm, Quetzalcoatl’s (quetzal ~ bird and coatl ~ snake) Nest and Park. My favorite space in this fantastic park is the greenhouse, with its ceiling constructed of multi-colored stained glass. As I entered from a dazzling mosaic tunnel (depicted in the photo Follow the Light), it was as if I had burst into a space that delighted all my senses. Warm, deeply saturated color surrounded me as daylight was filtered through the stained glass above. The sound of flowing water spiraling into a reflecting pool filled the air, which was rich with the fragrance of soil and growing plants. It is magical. The park’s creator is well known Mexican architect Javier Senosiain.
