Gentle Awakening
The sunrise gently warms the still morning air and gives shape to the shadows on Cook Inlet by Anchorage, Alaska. The inlet is a branch of the Gulf of Alaska, situated in the North Pacific. Anchorage is in southern Alaska near the head of the inlet, which experiences tidal flows that sometimes exceed 30 feet in a daily cycle.
